I was born in San Antonio, Texas, and it’s where I’ve spent most of my life. I’m crazy in love with and proud of my kids, Ruben and Elena.

I’d like to think of myself as an aspiring writer, but what do I know? I guess I’m just learning how to embrace my nomadic soul and am always on the lookout for storiesof creativity, justice, mercy, humility…you know…the good stuff.

I may not know much, but on my journey – and to paraphrase a lyric from one of my favorite singer-songwriters, Sondre Lerche – I’ve learned this: be prepared to be surprised.
